Denver, CO (December 27, 2023) – iDE is taking part in Light the World Giving Machines project, set to launch in Times Square on November 27. This effort redefines charitable giving, allowing the public to donate specific items to support iDE's global initiatives through an engaging vending machine format.
"We are elated to join in this unique charitable endeavor,” said Lizz Welch, CEO of iDE. “The Giving Machines provide an exciting opportunity for the public to directly support our work. This collaboration with The Church, a leader in global humanitarian efforts, is a significant boost to our mission of sustainable development."
The Giving Machines, conceptualized by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, are a novel philanthropic tool. They allow individuals to donate items to selected charities, including iDE, thereby making a meaningful impact on various humanitarian efforts.
The initiative will be launched with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Times Square, with subsequent installations in various cities, including New York City, Sacramento, Modesto, Omaha, Chicago, Des Moines, St. Louis, Indianapolis, and Kansas City.
Since 2017, the Light the World Giving Machines have raised over $22 million for charities worldwide. iDE is excited to participate in this project, which aligns with its goal to create income and livelihood opportunities for the impoverished.
