Kim Hian is an Agronomist with many relevant expertise including Integrated Pest Management, Climate Smart/Regenerative Agriculture, Disaster Risk Reduction/Climate Change Adoption, Market System Development, and Value Chain Assessment, Project Management and Implementation. She has a PhD degree in Agriculture Science from New Zealand. In January 2023, after five years in various roles at iDE Cambodia, Kim Hian was promoted to Agriculture Director of iDE Cambodia. In this position, Kim Hian ensures strategic coherence across agriculture programs, leads in ongoing agriculture research, learning, innovation and adaptation. She also represents iDE agriculture projects in Cambodia Agriculture sector network and events, in addition to supporting the development of agriculture funding proposals.

Kim Hian served iDE as a liaison with USAID-funded Cambodia Harvest II where she oversaw the environmental mitigation and monitoring plan and the vegetable subsector. Kim Hian successfully led a USAID-funded Integrated Pest Management Innovation Lab from 2016-2021. In addition, she oversaw and served as technical advisor of many projects funded by New Zealand Aid including CSmart, CODES, STEER and Pro-Market. Before joining iDE, Kim Hian was a National Lead Technical Adviser and Project Coordinator of an EU funded project called “Consolidating Capacities for DRR in Agriculture in SouthEast Asia: Cambodia, Laos, Philippines and DPRK” implemented by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Prior to this, Kim Hian was in various short-time and full-time positions with many iNGOs in Cambodia. In her spare time, Kim Hian likes walking and gardening, and visiting the spa. Also, she and her husband have a cashew nut farm!
