Sameer Karki is the new country director of iDE in Bangladesh, bringing a decade of international development expertise. His career traverses South to Southeast Asia, overseeing portfolios in climate change, disaster resilience, economic development, and more. At iDE, he started as a technical specialist in 2015 and swiftly ascended to associate director of programs, playing a pivotal role in a diverse range of projects, from agriculture to WASH initiatives. For the last few years, Sameer was the director of programs at Mercy Corps in Timor Leste. In this role, he led strategic initiatives and managed a diverse portfolio, focusing on market system development and sectoral expansion. His educational background includes a master of arts in coexistence and conflict resolution from Brandeis University, Massachusetts.
