Rick is passionate about market-based solutions to social and environmental problems, leading him directly to his active role on iDE’s Board of Directors as well as working with other non-profits like Grow Movement.

Rick is currently a professional impact investor advising Family Offices in social and environmental investments. Previously, he was the Head of Portfolio Management at Climate Change Capital in London. There, he managed the world’s largest private carbon impact fund, a $1 billion private equity fund dedicated to reducing global warming and generating commercial returns through investment in projects and companies in developing countries. Rick has closed over 50 investment transactions representing more than $1.3 billion invested and over 100 million tonnes of greenhouse gas reductions. Earlier in his career he managed a trading team at Epcor, one of Canada’s largest utilities, where he led their entry into the US and newly deregulated electricity markets. Rick holds an MBA from London Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce from the Sauder School of Business.
