Martha Hirpa brings over 25 years of experience as an international development professional, holding key senior roles in governmental, non-governmental and private sectors. With expertise in business development, program design and implementation, capacity strengthening and partnership building, Martha has led initiatives across agriculture, food security, natural resources management, gender equity, youth engagement and social sectors and themes. With a global footprint spanning Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe and North America, Martha’s leadership has shaped policies, strategies, and programs across many countries. Formerly a senior consultant, her background includes roles at EnCompass LLC, Heifer International, the Netherlands Development Cooperation and more. With A Master’s in Natural Resources Management and Sustainable Agriculture, and Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Martha leads iDE’s Global Partnerships and Business Development work as well as represents iDE in the Washington DC area. Beyond work, Martha enjoys connecting with people, learning new cultures, and spending time with her family and two adorable cats.
