Komal is an agricultural post graduate with over 38 years of experience in the agricultural sector, including 25 years of experience working with the Government of Nepal in agriculture extension service. He joined iDE in 2003 as an Area Coordinator and was promoted to the National Program Director in 2005. He has led and managed projects funded by donors such as USAID, EU, DFID/ UKAID, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, ACIAR/ Australian Government and small foundation grants during his 13 years with iDE promoting livelihood opportunities for smallholder farmers in Nepal.

Komal has a Master's Degree in Agricultural Extension from Universiti Pertanian Malaysia (UPM) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture from University of Agricultural Science (UAS) from Bangalore in India. He has field experience and expertise on program design/planning, field implementation, staff management and program supervision, monitoring/ evaluation and reporting. He is also coordinates with the Government of Nepal and other stakeholders for collaboration in project implementation.
