Horácio is iDE Mozambique's program's director for market systems and private sector engagement. He has some 14 years of experience working on development projects with a strong focus on agriculture and livelihoods, food security, rural development, and market systems development. Horácio began his career as a district coordinator, supporting the USAID-funded Osanzaya Program, dedicated to promoting food security in Mozambique’s Zambezia Province. Later, he was Mozambique’s national coordinator for the Partnership for Investment and Growth in Africa under the International Trade Center. He was also head of domain for Switzerland’s Income & Economic Development unit which included $30 million worth of projects across Mozambique. Fluent in both English and Portuguese, Horácio holds a master’s degree in development practice.
