Indrajit found himself marginalized in Nepal due to his ethnicity and earning money was a challenge. He worked as a laborer in India until COVID-19 forced him to return to his home country and find a new way to support himself. Motivated to start a business, Indrajit found that banks considered loaning money in his area to be a “bad investment.” Undeterred, he convinced a local cooperative to lend him money to pursue a new business concept he learned about from iDE. With the loan, he purchased a power tiller and offered his services for hire tilling land for farmers in his rural community. His success led a bank to grant him a loan, allowing him to expand his operations by purchasing a reaper and thresher. His achievements inspired five other young entrepreneurs from his rural municipality, all of whom had returned from migrant work due to the pandemic, to start their own farm machinery service businesses with loans from the bank.
What's next for Indrajit
